Return to Italy

It’s been three years since we’ve stayed in San Gimignano and spent time with our wonderful friends, the H-Bs, and yet as we approached Il Rosolachio, it all seemed so familiar.

It’s such a stunning and unspoiled part of Italy and a true retreat. As gastro lovers, agritourismo is the way forward – no menu choices, just four dishes, farm to fork within the day.

Perfect place for a teen holiday. San Gimignano is a beautiful Medieval walled city and being close to the tanneries in Pisa, the place to buy leather goods. The girls took themselves off to buy bags. Chris and Ed hid in a cafe and Anthony and I climbed the tallest tower to enjoy stunning views across the Tuscan hills.

Back to the hotel for lunch in the gardens, kids being the Annoying Brits in the pool, and Harriet and I topped up our fake tans.

Wine. Repeat. Bliss.
