The sense of relief that we felt that we arrived in Goa was palpable. It’s been an emotional trip to Delhi: we were made so welcome by Ashaji but Chris’ dad’s absence was deeply felt.
We are staying in a villa at Coco Shambala, where nothing is too much trouble. The Goan way of life is relaxed and friendly and, in contrast to the dust and smog that pervade Delhi, it’s a tropical paradise here: women wear bright saris, cows roam the streets (and the beach) and temples and churches sit harmoniously side by side.

Off to out favourite restaurant tonight – Bhatti Village – known as ´Patrick’s’ locally. No menu, just Patrick’s recommendation as to catch of the day. Chonak (local Goan fish) lightly fried in masala with Poa bread and a Kingfisher. Perfect.
