Can’t Win ‘Em All

With our annual Norfolk trip postponed until later in the summer, we booked a last minute trip to a beautiful former mill. On our first, and most likely last, trip to Anglesey.

On the positive side, the mill really was quite lovely. Interior design of magazine quality, a fun outdoor hot tub, a welcome basket of local foodie treats and champagne on ice. First impressions were excellent.

And then we stepped outside. The weather was invariably miserable, reflected in the grey rocks on the beach, the grey sea and the grey clouds. Fair to say that the locals didn’t bring any warmth to the situation either.

Widening our search for a restaurant which served something other than fried-stuff-with-chips proved fruitless, so for the first holiday EVER I actually wanted to cook supper and eat in.

And then Kiran was ill -the first attack of his arthritis (we feared much worse) – so we cut our losses and headed home a day early. As they say; you can’t win ‘em all…
