It’s been two years since as a family we were visited India and spent time with Ashaji and family. We are welcomed as family, but it’s always strange with Chris’ dad a memory rather than a presence.
The closest airport to our intended destination, Evolve Back Kabini, is Bangalore, and from there a five our drive.
We decided to break our journey in Mysuru – a beautiful city off the foreign tourist route, largely due to transport links – a city of palaces and silk.
It was worth the detour and gave us the opportunity to buy silk for Sophia’s lahenga skirt – her wedding outfit for a family wedding, which we subsequently had tailored at our next destination.
