Evolve Back Kabini

In the province of Karnakata in the heart of the jungle, is the idyllic safari resort, Evolve Back Kabini. This is the place to tiger safari in style.

The resort itself is very special. Although the purpose of our stay was safari on land and by boat, our free time was spent at our private pool, the spa (enjoying a four handed massage) or taking high tea as the sun sets.

Our days started at 5am. A painful start but with a couple of cups of the coffee grown on the hotel’s estate, we were excited to start our search.

The land safaris merit a separate post, but we also spent a wonderful afternoon on a boat safari, enjoying some of the amazing birdlife.

Ospreys, hornbills, peacocks, eagles, owls and cormorants were all spotted and snapped.

Whilst in the tropics, birdsong is the continual background noise from dawn until dusk, it is rare to take some time out to share a moment of fascination with the birds and the boat safari gave us chance to do just that.
