The Postcard from Goa

….and relax: welcome to South Goa. It’s been a marvellous but hectic holiday with early starts and travel, and so the prospect of a few days in Goa, with its easy and gentle pace of life, was most welcome. In fact, a bike ride to the beach and long walk watching the sunset was as strenuous as it was going to get.

We were staying at the fabulous Postcard Hotel in Cuelim, which far exceeded our expectations.

The former home of a governor, later considered the liberator, of Goa, the 350 year old building with just six rooms, felt like a private residence.

No keys, no TVs, just a stunning dining room, rooms with hand painted walls furnished with antique furniture and objets d’art, a private chef serving delicious South Indian food, great mixologist (who mixed a memorable daiquiri to start the evening), attentive staff, and a private pool.

We had no intention of leaving the hotel and every intention to return.
